Baby and the Mozart Effect

Musical awakening and the "Mozart Effect"

A cultural thing

Since before the birth, baby starts to hear sounds. She thus progressively learns to understand and memorize what she hears, to recognize the voice of her parents and to be immersed in the musical culture that is passed on by the parents.

For a baby, there is no "good" or "bad" music: her tastes develop while listening to different music and tones. It is therefore important to allow her to listen to various music and sources: songs, tales and different instruments...

... but always with a low volume, since baby’s ears are much more sensitive than those of adults. This is the reason why MP3 teddy bears from Baby Bidou feature a parental control of the volume...

Brain development

Music has a soothing effect on your child, and help to develop brain abilities. It is also a good time to share with your baby, while listening to new tunes together, or singing along with the music!

It is proven that listening to tales and songs in languages other than her mother tongue helps baby to develop an ability to learn new languages in the future. Indeed these foreign words allow to pick up sounds and accents that it is very difficult to perceive once we are grown up without them.

Baby Bidou helps you awakening your baby

Baby Bidou proposes you a full range of lullabies to soothe baby, but also hundreds of albums for kids in several languages.
Follow our guide to find adequate music for your child.

About the "Mozart Effect"

Some researchers (physicist Gordon Shaw and Frances Rauscher, 1993 – University of California, Irvine) have suggested that listening to music (and especially to Mozart) at an early age increases intelligence and various mental abilities...

Since this claim has not been scientifically proved, we cannot tell you whether this is true or not, but you know (as we do) that young children love music and that they are very open to discover music from any culture. They don't come with a sense of what is the "good" music to hear. This is why you will find here various tunes from all around the World: you will thus have them discover the richness and variety of the musical traditions and cultures everywhere on this planet... and it's a good way to try the Mozart Effect by yourself!

They will surely enjoy it and you will be able to share good moments listening to original and "strange" music that you will not find elsewhere.

... To really take advantage of the Mozart Effect, nothing is better than a Bidou! Choose your preferred one:
